Pontevedra (Escola de Enxeñería Forestal da Universidade de Vigo): from 25 to 27 April.
Requena. School of Viticulture. October 19-21, 2018.
There is a limit of 25/30 places per course.
PARTICIPANT PROFILE:
The Course is aimed at all those people who have a training linked to the Management of the Natural Environment. It is a type of non-formal training, different, based on practical learning that offers tools to these professionals so that they learn to communicate their technical knowledge to society. Once the course is over, the student will be able to organize routes or tours of the mountain with diverse and varied groups, making them aware of their values.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Forestry pedagogy is a concept that was born in northern Europe (PAWS Project) and is based on the transmission of the broad concept of sustainability. The forest monitor should use his own experience in forest management to spread his message in an understandable and enjoyable way and achieve objectives such as:
Arouse interest and inspire pleasure in the forest.
Learn to be surprised through tools such as: Transmit information, present sustainable forest management as a model, transmit values, encourage people to change their behavior, create partnerships in favor of forests, invite visitors to the forest, etc.
The design of pedagogical-forestry routes is based on the humanist concept of education. From this point of view, the objective of forestry education is to meet the needs of the participants and encourage their development according to their aptitude and skills. To do this:
Educational content should be described in such a way that the themes and activities of the programme relate to real life situations.
Educational process consisting of teaching participants procedures and knowledge that are and will be necessary for them to control their own lives.
The educational structure should make it easier for participants to choose whether they want to participate in the activities or not.
Participants are offered opportunities to choose and manage their goals and activities. The forest monitor does not keep a strict control of the participants of the course establishing a freer relationship.
The educational content of course activities should be tailored to fit groups and participants determined to meet specific interests.
Humanistic education encompasses the entire personality of the student (emotions, feelings, communication and self-awareness).
In humanistic education, participants learn to assess their progress in relation to established learning objectives.
The forest monitor develops his role as a mediator.
The formative objective is found in the cognitive and psychological functions developed during the educational process in the natural environment. Forestry education should not be considered as an objective in itself.
NON-QUANTIFIABLE OBJECTIVES:

The course lasts approximately 40 hours and takes place in:
ONLINE PART:
Documentation on forest pedagogy.
Materials and resources for the Monitor.
FACE-TO-FACE PART:
1/2 day for: presentation, introduction to forest pedagogy and use of the Route Planner.
1 day: Experience and learn the most representative forest pedagogical activities.
1/2 day: Putting into practice what has been learned with a group of schoolchildren from the area where it is carried out.

The cost of the course is:

PROFOR MEMBERS PRICE: 60€
NON-MEMBER PRICE: € 80 (if you register as a member,you pay the annual fee of € 50 or € 30 / year and you pay a reduced rate in this course and access another free training during the year)
